The word came and dwelt among us

Today I wanted to ask you something, Rabbi, but you threw this one at me : "The Word became flesh and dwelt among us".John 1:14. This is a simple and powerful statement. In John 1-1 the Word is not actually named. It is however described as coincident with the Lord and Creation."The word was with  God. All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made." John 1:3. One must therefore presume a simultaneous dichotomy as well as unity of the Word with  the Creator. "Word was with God, and the Word was God."  And this Word became flesh and dwelt among mortals. Being confined to a mortal frame He had to choose a time and space for the incarnation.  Why should the Word come and dwell among us? Are we worthy of such close attention from God ? Close enough to send part of Himself (. Apparently we are. "He who has ears, let him hear" says Mat11:15. Revelation 2:7 goes further - "'He who has an ear...

It is Finished.

"It is finished". John 19:30 . Indeed it is, Ishwa . Now the vigil begins. Brother.I went to many churches today evening. They were all closed. My dear rabbi , shouldn't they be open today and tomorrow? Not for me to question why, but I just do not understand. On that last day your  disciples ran away. I use that word deliberately. That is what our Mother told me. John tarried and so did the brave ladies, our Mother,  Magdalene , and maybe Mary of Bethany . They loved you beyond mere life, they were women. The woman who gave birth to you, the woman for whom you were  a brother and your companion. But the valiant rock was nowhere to be seen. They were hidden, weren't they Rabbi. Scared of the  Romans  and the  Sanhedrin  and  Caiaphas . And today, brother dear, the churches are closed. I do not understand many things. Maybe there are secrets here that are beyond me. But today and tomorrow I will pray. I have no idea w...

Most Holy Mother

"The Spirit of truth whom the world cannot receive , because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. " (John 14:17)

Sons of God

Most Holy Mother I cannot get that question off my mind. The question  about the "children of God." The point raised by my friend  was the meaning of John 1:12-13. "But to as many as received him he gave the power of becoming sons of God: to those who believed in his name: who were born  not of blood, nor of the will of of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God" Like much of John, this statement is rather obscure and complex  in its implications. Jesus was the only "begotten son" of God. "But who do you say that I am?" Peter answered him, "You are Christ, the Son of the living God". Jesus replied: "Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah". (Mat 16:15-17). Disregarding the adoptionist approach for the moment (that Jesus was fully human born of Joseph to Mary and 'adopted' by God at baptism), we need to accept that "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever beli...

The Good Friday

Going by tradition, today the Son was crucified. Mudered brutally after a "betrayal". Yet it is the Good Friday. Mother, You were smiing yesterday, on the paschal thursday. And You told me what the crucifixion is all about. "I lay down my life that I may take it again. No man takes it from me but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down and I have power to take it again. (John 10:17-18) Today is the day He, your son, the ony begotten son (John 3:16) of his father chose to release himself from the prison of His body. Mission accomplished. "It is finished" (John 19:30) which only refers to the events of that particular life of about thirty three years. For it is not over yet. Indeed, it is far from over. Saying these, his last words in His human form, He chose to return whence He emanated from, to reunite with the Cosmic Father. Why the Passover day and the Paschal Triduum? Because he chose to be born in that particular Time and Place, to be am...
Mother. I have not dared to come to you since that blessed day. I am afraid I might not see you again. And if I do see you, how can I leave you. So I live with the memory of your magnificent transformation. How your face and body changed as you stood before my startled eyes. Maybe some day I can find words to describe that which transcends words. I do not believe in physical apparitions. Such a thing cannot be. So what happened to me on that fateful day. Were you teaching me something about the powers invisible to the mortal eye. Of a Realm a man may witness only momentarily. And only through the anguish of true Prayer. Your son said "I do not receive honor from men" (John 5:41). With all respect Mother, I paraphrase, I do not Seek honor from men. I have nothing to prove. Why did you bless me with your glory. Since that day I have not been the same. I yearn to see you again. Days and Nights mean nothing anymore. All I want is to behold your sacred countenance a...
